Favorite Sculpture!

This object that I am showing on the left is the pot I made on the wheel. I would have to say, this was such a hard task for me. This dealt with lots of Mental toughness, and that is something I struggle with. Mrs. Seitz helped me a lot, by breathing and telling myself I could do it. After five days, I had a pot! I was so happy to know that ME, MYSELF, made this pot. I am proud of my work, and I’m glad I was able to do it!

The main thing I loved about ceramics is just being able to let go of all the things on my mind and relax as I worked with my hands and fingers. With all the stuff going on at school such as grades, sports, classes. This class helped me to relax and tell myself that I got this, I got what I was going to do. This ceramics class helps all who struggle with mental toughness as making models is a tough job! In the end, you can do it. Just ask Mrs. Seitz to “breathe” with you! 😉

Something new that I learned this year was to make a slab box. This was probably the second most difficult project to do, and it really put your skills to the test. At the last second I got my box done. I was creative and put the letter “M” for my scratch detail on the box. This was to show my home stare, Michigan!
